Display Number of Weeks from Project Start Date instead of Start & Finish Dates in P6
There is a request on my YouTube channel under the video for 2 ways to show number of days instead of dates in Primavera P6, asking for the Primavera P6 Global Change criteria to display number of weeks instead of Start and Finish dates in a P6 schedule layout.
Here are screenshots of the steps I would take to achieve the desired solution using Global Change and User Defined Fields (UDFs). I will try and find time to produce a video explaining all the steps and the reasoning behind my approach.
Hide WBS or Summary Level Totals
You will notice that I have not shown WBS (summary) level details in the screenshot and this is because for Integer type UDFs, P6 sums the values of the activities, when what we want at WBS level is minimum value for Start Day or Start Week and maximum value for Finish Day or Finish Week.
Due to this reason, my preference is to use Microsoft Project to produce an Ordinal Dates schedule using the method outlined in the Microsoft Project version of this tutorial.
You can hide the totals from your layout by making sure the Show Group Totals in the Group and Sort dialog box is unticked.
